New Hospice CEO
St Wilfrid’s Hospice are delighted to announce the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer. The new CEO will take up the role on Alison Moorey’s retirement in March 2023.
St Wilfrid’s were delighted to receive an excellent response to the recruitment process, and shortlisted and interviewed a number of candidates. The new CEO will be Lois Howell who joins St Wilfrid’s with a wealth of experience from her background as a solicitor and director in the NHS. Alison will have a handover period with Lois before she officially retires after 25 years of service to this important local charity.
Retiring Chief Executive Alison said,
“I’m so pleased to welcome Lois to the team here at St Wilfrid’s. Leading hospice services for our local community has been a great privilege for me, and I’m looking forward to handing over to Lois before I retire, with the support of the rest of the Senior Management Team. I’m confident that her skills and experience will benefit St Wilfrid’s for local people who need vital hospice care.”
New CEO Lois said,
“I’m thrilled to join the St Wilfrid’s Hospice team, as I know this charity has a special place in local people’s hearts. I’m looking forward to getting to know patients, families, volunteers and staff and leading hospice care provision for our community.”

Soline Jerram, Chair of the Board of Trustees, agreed, “Good leadership is hugely important in a charity providing a variety of care for people living with life limiting and terminal illness and we welcome Lois to this role. Alison will be sharing her 25 years of experience with Lois so that St Wilfrid’s continues to provide excellent care for our local community into the future.”
