Our Values

Patients, loved ones, supporters and colleagues receive the best care with us. All are listened to, receive acts of kindness as and when it is needed and are treated with respect and empathy as individuals, regardless of circumstance.

Patients, loved ones, supporters and colleagues interact with us at our best. They know we will have learnt from our experiences, and make improvements in practice.

Patients, loved ones, supporters and colleagues are treated with authenticity and with their best interests at the forefront. They are respected and feel they can trust in our honesty.

Patients, loved ones, supporters and colleagues are treated in a professional manner; they can rely on us to be proactive, supportive and take responsibility. They view us caring for each other and taking a collective responsibility for our resources and the environment.

Patients, loved ones, supporters and colleagues enjoy feeling part of our team and that we will be successful together, sharing the same aims and goals, feeling communicated with and understanding our role in supporting them.

The importance of our Values to our staff

Watch our video talking to some of the St Wilfrid’s Staff about our Values and what they mean to them.

Our Vision

Our vision is for all dying people and their loved ones to have access to the support and care they need.

For our vision to succeed, it is vital that we welcome, understand the needs of, and can support people with diverse backgrounds, characteristics and needs.  It is also core to our success that our staff, volunteers and supporters champion equality, embrace our spirit of inclusivity and reflect the diversity of the community we serve.

We set up a dedicated Equality, Diversity and Inclusion steering group in early 2021, led by our Chief Executive and one of our Trustees, with members of our team from around the organisation. We have started our development by listening to and learning from our staff and volunteer teams, and plan to reach out to other groups for feedback and to work together.
