What is the Moonlight Walk?
The Moonlight Walk is a fundraising event held by St Wilfrid’s Hospice. It sees hundreds of walkers take on a 5 or 10 mile route around Chichester, exploring familiar areas such as Priory Park and Bishop’s Palace Gardens in a brand new way!
The event starts at Chichester College where there is an event village with of local businesses offering refreshments and entertainment. There is a warm-up and music. All walkers then set off together at sunset to take on the walk.
Every year, walkers will receive a t-shirt and medal for taking on the walk to help support hospice care.

How the Moonlight Walk helps support St Wilfrid’s
Walkers taking on the walk buy their tickets for their place and then are asked to start their own fundraising and/or sponsorship for their walk, asking friends and families to donate to support their challenge. The ticket price helps covers the cost of putting on the event, and fundraising goes towards supporting hospice care for our local community.
The Moonlight Walk raises a large amount of money which helps to fund hospice services. It costs over £8 million a year to run the Hospice, so fundraisers such as Moonlight Walk help to raise money to cover the costs and allow St Wilfrid’s to continue to provide expert care and compassion to people with life limiting illnesses in the local community.
