Terms & Conditions 

These terms and conditions are designed to help us deliver a safe, enjoyable and successful event for everyone while raising as much as possible to support the work of St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

By registering for the Moonlight Walk, you agree to the following: 

  • To take part in the event, you must register online, pay the registration fee, and agree to these terms and conditions. 
  • All participants must be registered for the event. 
  • You understand that this is a fundraising event and agree to raise as much sponsorship as possible. Your registration fee is non-refundable, as it covers the cost of organising and administering the event and is not considered a charitable donation. 
  • Any sponsorship or funds raised in connection with the event must be made payable to St Wilfrid’s Hospice. 
  • You understand that walking on public roads and pathways at night carries risks and requires extra care and awareness. 
  • You acknowledge that St Wilfrid’s Hospice, its employees, and volunteers cannot accept responsibility for any personal injury, accident, loss, damage, or public liability arising from participation in the event. 
  • You confirm that you are in reasonable health and physically fit enough to take part in your chosen route. 
  • Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, who will take full responsibility for them throughout the event. 
  • Only assistance dogs are permitted on the walk. Thank you for understanding and leaving your canine companions at home. If you’d like to take part with your dog, you may wish to register for our Moonlight Walk Your Way instead. 
  • Alcohol must not be brought to or consumed during the event. 
  • The Moonlight Walk is not a race, and walkers of all abilities are welcome. Our priority is that everyone completes the event safely. 
  • If you are taking part in the 10-mile route and event organisers feel that continuing would not be in your best interests, they may recommend that you do not proceed beyond the point where the 5-mile and 10-mile routes separate. 
  • If you are taking part in the 20-mile route and are struggling at the 10-mile checkpoint, event organisers may recommend that you do not continue with the remainder of the route for your own wellbeing and safety. 
  • Photographs and video footage may be taken throughout the event for marketing, promotional and publicity purposes. If you would prefer not to appear in photography or filming, please let a member of the registration team know when signing in. 
  • The personal information you provide during registration will be stored securely and processed in accordance with UK GDPR requirements. Your details will be used to administer and communicate with you about the event. 
  • If you would like to hear more about the work of St Wilfrid’s Hospice, you can sign up to receive our monthly email newsletter. You’ll be among the first to hear about fundraising events, challenge activities, volunteering opportunities, and the care we provide to our local community.
