How did we do in 2024 to 2025?

We are committed to providing the best care and services to those in our community who need it whenever and wherever.

Let’s take a look at how we performed in our key areas.

We’ve worked to make our services easier to access, more responsive and better known across our catchment to reach people who may not have considered hospice care before.

We’ve partnered with local groups and healthcare providers to improve access for diverse communities including caring for more patients with non-cancer conditions. We also adapt our support to reflect different cultural, social and personal needs.

We have continued to seek opportunities to learn, develop and improve through delivering our own specialist training as well as expanding our Living Well Centre sessions for patients and carers.

Sustainability for us means more than funding, it’s about diversifying our income and protecting the environment. We have installed solar panels, maintained 0% landfill waste and expanded our recycling initiatives.

Your impact in numbers

Without the support of those in our community, we wouldn’t be able to raise the funds we need to run the Hospice and provide care for those who need it most.

A HUGE ‘thank you’ to everyone who has supported us in any way, shape or form. Here’s a look at how you helped…

Making a difference

Without the support of our incredible volunteers, donors or shoppers, we wouldn’t be able to provide the care to your community hospice.

This year, volunteers gave more than 58,000 hours of their time. In Retail alone, they provided 47% of total hours worked in our shops, providing us with skills, knowledge and valuable experience. This year our volunteers were publicly recognised when they received the Chichester City Council Community Award for outstanding service to the city. Thank you to every one of you!

Our fundraisers, shoppers and donors – your efforts have helped us to continue caring for people in your local area. Funds raised by you have helped us allow 725 patients remain at home, support 543 with our Family Services team and our Hospice Community Team to make 4,821 visits to those in our community.

From everyone at St Wilfrid’s, thank you. You have made a big difference.

For the second year running, we were commissioned by the Surrey and Sussex Cancer Alliance to deliver two-day Advanced Communication Skills courses - a nationally recognised programme for those working in palliative care. St Wilfrid’s remains the only hospice in Sussex offering this training.

This year, we also developed two new courses: Intimacy, Relationships and Sex towards the End of Life and Inequalities in Palliative Care.

Nationally, we remain closely involved with Hospice UK, contributing to education and training, networking, and sharing best practice across the sector.
