No, there is no age limit for dog participants. All dogs must be up to date on vaccines (puppies must have vaccines before socialising with other dogs and walking outside their own home).
The walk is approx 4k in length. We are planning to share the exciting route map very soon!
No more than four dogs per person (RSPCA advised). Each dog signed up is £7.50 and needs to register on our website. There is no limit to how many human guests you can bring with you.
Yes, this is a family-friendly event and children are more than welcome to attend with an adult guardian.
The starting and meeting point for the event is next to the Beach Cafe. Sign-in opens at 10am and the walk starts at 11am.
Our Woof for Wilf event is a fundraiser for St Wilfrid’s Hospice, and we do ask that all participants do try to raise £25 sponsorship. The cost of your ticket helps us put on a fun, family-friendly event for you to enjoy, so we do ask that where possible, you try to fundraise. Your fundraising will help us to continue providing vital end of life care to the local community, completely free of charge. You can of course still take part in the event if you don’t fundraise. You can set up your JustGiving page here.
Not at all! Entry to the Halloween fancy dress competition is completely up to each dog and your owner. It is £2.50 to enter the competition, which your owner can sign up to when they book your ticket.
You are also welcome to come in fancy dress without entering the competition.
As this is a family-friendly event, we do ask that your Halloween fancy dress isn’t too scary, and that you try to avoid ghosts and ghouls, and any scary zombies that may frighten children.
Please make sure your owner brings lots of biodegradable poo bags, and is dressed accordingly to the weather and wears sensible walking shoes. Please make sure they also bring water and snacks for the walk.
Dog Welfare
Yes, we have dog first aid on-site courtesy of Bentleys Dog Groomers who are kindly donating their time to support our event.
We do ask that all dogs are kept on leads throughout the whole event. If your dog is off the lead, you will be asked to make sure they are leashed.
You and your dog are more than welcome to come to the event. You know your dog the best, so it’s best for you to judge the situation. We would suggest that your dog wear a muzzle, and/or a ‘give me space’ sash on their leads so other owners know to give you space.

There is plenty of car parking available for your owner at West Wittering Beach, and the cost of parking is not included in your ticket price. You can purchase your parking on the day, or you can pre-book for a discounted rate. You can book on the West Wittering Beach car park on: www.westwitteringestate.co.uk
