Our Day Centre is an outpatient support hub where patients and their families and carers can access a range of activities and therapies.
Our team of specialist staff is on hand to offer emotional, physical, practical and clinical support. We encourage independence and resilience, enabling patients to live the best lives they can.
Patients can come to the Day Centre for a single activity such as a complementary therapy, exercise class or a creative arts session; they can come for a day and join in a range of activities or they can simply come along for a cuppa and some company. Sometimes it’s good to have a change of scenery and talk to others in the same situation rather than a spouse or other family member.
We are looking for a Creative Arts & Crafts Volunteer to join the team volunteering once a fortnight on a Wednesday
The aim of the role is to enable our patients to be creative, to regain a sense of emotional well-being and self-esteem, so often lost during illness.
We are looking for someone with a Creative Arts & Crafts background who is able to use their initiative to plan and prepare ideas and projects for a small group. You will need to be motivated and able to motive others to join in, have a positive attitude and have good listening skills. Once the art work is created you will help the nursing team to promote the work achieved by the patients and display the work around the Hospice for all to enjoy.
