We have an exciting opportunity for a Donation/Distribution Centre Supervisor to join our Distribution Centre in Chichester.

We are an independent local charity based in Bosham, Chichester, we offer a wide range of services to support our patients who are living with a life limiting or terminal illness.

The work we do makes a real difference and our Hospice supports over 330 patients at any one time.

As a Donation/Distribution Centre Supervisor, you will support the Retail Operations Manager in the management of the site, to deliver operational excellence, contributing to our shops reaching their income budgets, and extending St Wilfrid’s reach in our local communities.

Being a Donation/Distribution Centre Supervisor at St Wilfrid’s

In this role you will be taking day to day responsibility for the management of the donation centre, including daily operational activities and leading a team of Warehouse Operatives, Van Drivers and Volunteers.

The Donation/Distribution Centre Supervisor will be essential to maximising our retail income generation, by ensuring excellent customer service to our donors as they drop off at the Warehouse, and managing the handling and sorting of those donations to minimise waste.

We encourage you to come and have a look around our store at Terminus Road and see the wide range of items we have. Our shops are the face of our Hospice, run by a wonderful, dedicated and passionate mix of staff members and volunteers.

Shop hours

It’s important to know that our shops are open every day, so regular weekend and bank holiday working is needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Charity and/or commercial retail/warehouse experience at a supervisory level (Essential)
  • Experience of managing people (Essential)
  • Warehouse supervisory experience (Desirable)
  • Knowledge and interest in Charity retailing (Desirable)
  • Experience working in an environment with a volunteer population (Desirable)
  • Right to Work in the UK (Essential)
