St Wilfrid’s Hospice, Chichester | Treecycling 2024

Volunteer Terms & Conditions

The below terms and conditions have been written to ensure that St Wilfrid’s Hospice can support its Treecycling volunteers in the best possible way. If you have any questions about them, please don’t hesitate to call 01243 755181 or email fundraising@stwh.co.uk

By volunteering for this event, you agree to the following:

  • I am representing the charity at all times during my volunteering duties. I agree to behave politely and respectfully as a representative of the charity with the public.
  • I have a role to play when it comes to health and safety of myself, Hospice staff and other volunteers for this event and will abide by the information in these terms and conditions.
  • I understand that tree collections will take place throughout the day and roughly between 8.30am-5pm. I understand that it may not be possible for the fundraising team to let me know an exact finishing time in advance and that the length of my volunteering shift will be dependent on the amount of Christmas tree registrations for that day.
  • For each day that I am volunteering, I will need to arrive at St Wilfrid’s Hospice for a volunteer safety briefing at 8.30am and collect any materials that might be needed.
  • All volunteers are required to provide proof of ID prior to their volunteering to the Fundraising team.
  • If driving a van, I will drive within speed limits and follow the rules of the highway code.
  • I am in good health and fit to volunteer for this activity.
  • This volunteering involves being outside, and I will dress appropriately and be prepared for the weather on the day.
  • I will need to follow the instructions of the event organisers and understand that my tasks may change due to the demands of the event on the day.
  • It is up to me to tell the event organisers if I need to change the volunteering role I have been assigned and in good time before the event.
  • I agree to let the event organisers know as soon as possible if I can no longer volunteer for this event or if I need to reduce my volunteering hours.
  • If I am aged 16-17 I understand I must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged over 18.
  • By volunteering, you confirm that you are happy for any footage or photographs taken during your participation in the event to be used by the organisers and/or St Wilfrid’s Hospice to publicise and organise events. This includes potential use by St Wilfrid’s Hospice generally in promoting the work of the charity. This may include brochures, posters, leaflets, display boards, website, social media and any other such appropriate materials. If you wish to opt out of promotional photos then please let us know ahead of time so we can accommodate this.
