About the lottery
Local Hospice Lottery is a hospice owned collaboration. By sharing one prize fund and set of administration costs, players can benefit from a larger prize fund (the biggest of any hospice lottery!) and more money can be raised for St Wilfrid’s Hospice than if we ran our own lottery.
Further detail about prizes and how the Lottery works is available here at Local Hospice Lottery website.
St Wilfrid’s Hospice is one of a number of hospices throughout Great Britain supported by Local Hospice Lottery. Local Hospice Lottery will give between 55% and 80% of profits from individuals playing in support of St Wilfrid’s Hospice to St Wilfrid’s Hospice. This is expected to be at least £1,000,000 over five years from April 2020. For each £1 entry in the weekly draw Local Hospice Lottery gives an average of 60p to hospice care. A full list of the hospices supported, along with Terms and Conditions, can be seen on the Local Hospice Lottery website or provided on request from ‘Freepost Local Hospice Lottery’.
To help to recruit players, a team of paid fundraisers will be working in the local area both door-to-door and at venues. Each member of the team will be wearing a uniform and will have a Local Hospice Lottery photo identity card with them. You can view members of the team on the Local Hospice Lottery website by clicking here. All authorised Fundraisers are paid by Local Hospice Lottery Ltd.
Thank you so much for helping and good luck in the weekly draws!
* The £1,000 prize can roll over to a maximum of £25,000 (excluding Super Draw weeks where the £1,000 prize will always remain £1,000)!

It was hard to believe I had won at first! I am so pleased to support St. Wilfrid’s who’ve cared for so many of my close friends; making the world of difference in their last days, the nurses helping to give crucial quality time for spending with friends and family. – Tim Weeks
Tim Weeks had an amazing surprise in March 2019, when he won the top £25,000 rollover prize**.
Tim is also known locally as ‘The Gramophone Guru’, having begun his hobby 40 years ago by collecting gramophones (and the 78 RPM records to go with them) with his pocket money. By the 1980s gramophones were no longer regarded as old junk, making the transition to collectable antiques.
In the mid 1990’s he returned to Chichester and set up his workshop in East Dean, he is an avid supporter of St. Wilfrid’s Terminus Road Furniture Shop. You can see Tim’s handiwork at gramophoneguru.com and he regularly appears on ‘The Repair Shop’ on BBC.
What is he is going to spend his winnings on?
“Jemima – my Morris Minor 1000,” Tim says. “I have fixed her up a number of times over the past 43 years. There are some long awaited repairs that I can now finally get around to doing”.
