Sponsor a St Wilfrid’s Nurse

We’re about living, not dying

We want to help each and every one of our patients, and their loved ones, to make the most of every day.

That’s why we encourage them to come to St Wilfrid's Day Centre, to take part in activities, socialise and laugh, why we arrange for patients to come into our Ward for symptom control, or end of life care. It’s why we try to ensure they remain independent and place no restrictions on the visiting times of their family and friends – even their pets are welcome.

And, it’s why we do our very best to enable patients to stay in their own homes, wherever possible, for as long as possible, supported by our St Wilfrid’s Community Nurses.

But we can’t do any of this without the generosity of people like you! By sponsoring a nurse you will be helping us to make a difference.

Thanks to the incredible people at the Hospice, my family and I were given the chance to say goodbye to our beloved Steve in a way I didn’t think could ever be possible.

Your monthly Direct Debit, of whatever amount you choose, will help us to continue caring for terminally-ill local people, and their family and friends, through our variety of services.

Often people are surprised to learn that St Wilfrid’s is an independent charity and that we need just under £20,000 each day to run our range of Hospice Services. By sponsoring a nurse, your monthly gift could make all the difference to a patient or their loved ones.

It’s an honour to work as part of the Inpatient Ward team. Every day I see what a difference we are making to our patients and their loved ones, whether they are staying with us for symptom control or end of life care.
