Take it to the next level in 2020...

For the first time St Wilfrid's is offering a tandem skydive at 15,000 feet next year, offering you a whole minute of free fall experience in which to enjoy the view!

Join #teamwilf and experience the thrill of a lifetime! Take on a sponsored 10,000 ft or 15,000 ft free fall tandem skydive for St Wilfrid’s Hospice and raise vital funds as part of our Leap 4 Love team! All training is provided on the day and everything is managed by your own experienced instructor, allowing you take in every second.

Our Leap 4 Love skydives take place throughout the year and we have multiple dates for you to choose from:

  • Saturday 7th March 2020 (Register your interest by 1st February)

Fundraising support

As part of #teamwilf we will support you by providing:

  • Full fundraising support
  • A St Wilfrid’s Hospice t-shirt to wear over your jumpsuit on the day
  • Dedicated point of contact in our Fundraising Team
  • A get-together to meet your fellow leapers before the day
  • Post-skydive celebration with your team!

Deposit and sponsorship

Your freefall parachute jump takes courage. You deserve to get sponsored for your Leap 4 Love and every penny that you raise counts! It costs just £50 to register and then we ask that you commit to raising a minimum amount in sponsorship to confirm your place on our team. Our fundraising targets are: £395 for the 10,000ft skydive or £495 for the 15,000ft skydive.

Reaching your target covers the cost of your jump and means that a minimum donation of £220 (for 10,000ft) or £261 (for 15,000ft) comes straight to St Wilfrid’s Hospice! Every extra pound that you raise over your fundraising target also comes directly to us!

We’ll be here to support you with all your fundraising, so if you’re ready to take the leap, then join our team today!

Alternatively contact the St Wilfrid’s Hospice fundraising office on 01243 755199 or email fundraising@stwh.co.uk to find out more!

A tandem skydive with GoSkydive

Understandably you might be feeling a little nervous – a freefall parachute jump isn’t an everyday occurrence! However, rest assured you are in safe hands with the GoSkydive team. They are the UK’s specialist for first timers and are the only skydiving centre in the world to offer a simulated training session before your skydive. Suspended in your harness you’ll be able to practise your freefall and landing positions before you jump!

Please check out GoSkydive’s website to discover what the day involves and your pre-Skydive check list

Medical conditions

On the day of your tandem skydive you will need to sign a medical and information declaration form. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, GoSkydive will need your GP to sign a medical form. You will need to advise the team of any medical conditions well in advance, so they can ensure they are fully briefed on your needs.

Weight

The maximum weight for a tandem skydive is 18 stone fully clothed and if you weigh between 16 and 18 stone you will need to contact the GoSkydive team in advance. Please note that for safety reasons GoSkydive have to weigh all customers on the day of their jump.

Age

There are no upper age limits, but you’ll need to be at least 16 to tandem skydive and if you are aged 16 or 17 you must be accompanied by an adult.

For full details, please see GoSkydive’s information pack for everything you need to know ahead of your jump.
