Triumphant return of Moonlight Walk 2021
St Wilfrid’s Hospices’ much loved Moonlight Walk event returned to the streets of Chichester this week, and has currently raised over £46,000 so far!
Over 550 supporters have stepped up to support their local Hospice with 5 or 10 mile sponsored walks.
The return of the physical walk had timed waves of walkers moving from Chichester College up Centurion Way toward Lavant and looping back down into Chichester via beautifully lit Priory Park and Bishop Palace Gardens.
A further 100 supporters have taken 10,000 or 20,000 steps, taken at their own pace in their own chosen place this week, with many walking with dogs sporting new Wilf bandannas for #moonlightwalkies.
Walkers have collectively blazed a trail over 3200 miles long to raise vital funds to help provide expert care to end-of-life care patients, enabling them to live out the rest of their lives in comfort and dignity.
Chief Executive Alison Moorey said, “During these strange times, we are incredibly proud so many members of the local community stepped up to support St Wilfrid’s vital work in the local community.
It is only thanks to this ongoing support of the public that we can continue caring for local people living with a terminal illness as they face new and ever changing challenges.”
All walkers have until October 11 to get their fundraising into the Hospice, with several prizes up for grabs for top fundraising teams and individuals.
