Strachans Seven Ventures
“As it’s now 7 years since I lost my husband, Guy, I thought it suitable to attempt 7 Ventures to raise as much money as possible for St Wilfrid’s Hospice who helped Guy and the family in his last weeks at home.”
This year, Vikki is taking on 7 Ventures in memory of her husband Guy. She plans to take on Abseiling, Kayaking, Hiking and more! Read how her Ventures so far have gone below.
The first Venture Vikki completed was a Massive Easter Egg raffle.
On Friday 8th April, Vikki held her very own Easter Raffle, with lots of chocolatey prizes kindly donated by Midhurst Rother College and the top prize being a GIANT egg provided by the Friends of Sussex Hospices.
Her first Venture raised £135 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
Vikki’s second Venture was Horse-Riding, she headed to East Sussex and met Merlin the Horse and learnt to ride with the assistance of Chalkdown Group Riding for the Disabled Association in Staplehurst.
“I managed to do a steady walk, sitting trot and stayed on throughout!! A massive achievement for me as I haven’t been on a horse for over 20 Years!”
Venture number 3 was Kayaking!
“I smashed the challenge and Kayaked along the Kennet and Avon Canal. Lots of locks so a lot of getting out and carrying the Kayak past locks but a lot of fun. Beautiful day too so I was very lucky.”
For her Fourth Venture Vikki and her Sister walked on the 5 Lake Hike, Pizol in Switzerland.
“Whoop whoop!!! We did it. 4th venture complete. Hard work and some nasty climbs but what scenery and beautiful lakes. Amazing experience!”
