FAQs
Can I bring dogs to the Moonlight Walk?
With the exception of guide/assistant dogs, we ask you not to bring your dog to the Moonlight Walk. There are large parts of the walking routes where dogs are not allowed on the land, such as Priory Park and Bishop’s Palace Gardens. Unfortunately, this is out of our control as these are the venues’ rules. Additionally, over 600 walkers will be setting off on the walk at once, so it will not be a suitable environment for dogs. Thank you.
Will there be food provided?
As part of your ticket price, there will be light snacks and refreshments at certain points of the walk. There will also be food vendors available for you to purchase food during the walk, as well as at our event village before the walk begins.
What does my ticket include?
Your ticket includes your entry to the event, your 15th year anniversary medal and t-shirt.
When will I receive my t-shirt?
The t-shirt collections will take place a few weeks before the walk. We will be in touch nearer the time via email to let you know when you can collect your t-shirt.
What time do I need to arrive?
The walk starts at 8pm, but you can arrive at Chichester College from 6pm. You will be able to enjoy our event village with refreshments, t-shirt decoration stations and activities such as face painting. Please make sure you arrive with plenty of time to sign in on the evening, before the warm-up kicks off at 7:45pm.
Is there parking available?
Yes, there is free parking available at Chichester College.
Can I sign up on the night?
Yes you are welcome to sign up on the night. Please be aware that you might not be able to get your first choice of t-shirt size if you sign up on the night.
Can I take part in a wheelchair?
Yes, both walking routes are wheelchair accessible.
Are there any toilets and baby changing facilities during the walk?
There are toilets available at Chichester College, in Northgate car park, and at Priory Park.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring a water bottle, a comfortable pair of walking shoes, a backpack to carry your possessions, snacks, and a charged up mobile phone in case of emergencies. Don’t forget to pack warm/wet weather clothing just in case of a rainy evening.
Do I need to fundraise?
Your ticket registration helps cover the cost of the event, and we do ask that walkers fundraise as much as they can for their walk. This year, we are hoping to hit £100,000 in celebration of our 15th Moonlight Walk, and a generous, local sponsor has pledged to match fund the first £50,000 of fundraising, meaning your fundraising total could be doubled! You can create a JustGiving page here.
How long does the walk take?
We anticipate the walk will take around two hours for the 5 mile walk, and four hours for the 10 mile walk to complete (including all the stops).
I don’t want to walk, but I’d like to volunteer. How do I sign up?
Thank you so much, we are always grateful to welcome new volunteers. Please contact us on fundraising@stwh.co.uk or call 01243 755184.
