My father was admitted to St Wilfrid’s in 1989. My mother had nursed him at home for several weeks and needed a rest. She was worried about letting him go into the hospice and felt guilty. But, after a few visits was able to relax knowing he was settled and being well cared for. All the family were able to visit and be with him when he passed away.

When my husband became ill I was able to nurse him at home with help from carers. After he passed away I was invited to coffee mornings then lunches at St Wilfrid’s. I felt it a great help. The staff and volunteers were so understanding and gave great advice to help cope with the loss.
