St Wilfrid’s Hospice much loved annual Moonlight Walk event is going virtual from Saturday September 5 to September 12, 2020.
Participants are being asked to ‘step up’ to support their local Hospice with 10,000 or 20,000 steps.
Chief Executive Alison Moorey said, “During this difficult time, our St Wilfrid’s Hospice nurses are stepping up to continue caring for people living with a terminal illness in our community, facing new and ever changing challenges.
During, Moonlight Walk Week we’re asking as many of you as possible to walk virtually shoulder to shoulder with them in solidarity.
Sign up today and take 10,000 or 20,000 steps wherever you are, for all our nurses stepping up to support patients where they are.”
Once registered St Wilfrid’s will send you an exclusive 2020 Moonlight Walk t-shirt and a supporter pack, full of advice and support on how to complete the challenge and fundraise virtually.
By reaching the £60 fundraising target you’ll also earn a special edition 2020 Moonlight Walk medal after the event, with many other prizes up for grabs.
These target funds alone could support a home visit to a terminally ill patient with over 2 hours of care by a St Wilfrid’s Nurse Specialist.
Sammie Paice, will be walking in Moonlight Walk Week in memory of her mum Sally,
“Within 3 days of being referred to St Wilfrid's, we witnessed a huge change in Mum. With her pain and mobility being properly managed she had a quality of life we hadn’t experienced in months. The care we received there enabled us to form memories we can cherish for a life time”.
Now more than ever, the money you help raise can support the future of hospice care in our community.
