The simplest, greenest and most charitable way to dispose of your Christmas trees this year is to get involved in St Wilfrid’s Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme.
St Wilfrid’s wonderful team of volunteers are going to collect and ethically recycle real Christmas Trees from 6th -26th January 2021, in return for a donation to the Hospice.
You can Register your tree online at stwh.co.uk/christmastrees or call 01243 755827 to find out more. You can choose the level of donation as you wish.
Over 600 trees were recycled in the scheme’s first year last year, with even more post codes now available for this year.
In partnership with Chichester District Council, and supported by the Woodhorn Group, all trees will be recycled and used to create a range of Earth Cycle composts and topsoil’s.
We need your help to make a difference this Christmas, so volunteer to make sure you start the new year on Santa's good list!
Alex Burch, St Wilfrid’s Hospice Community Fundraising Manger said, “All our tree collecting volunteers will be wearing the appropriate PPE, use hand sanitation rigorously and operate in socially responsible bubbled teams to ensure local people can recycle your tree this Christmas simply and safely.”
In light of the current government guidance, we are really in need of household or support bubble teams of 2-3 people only, where one person would be able to drive one of our collection vans. If you have your own van, truck or trailer, then we'd be so grateful if you were able to not only volunteer your time, but your van too!
Please see our volunteer registration page for all the details if you're keen to find out more and register your interest today!
