For the third year St Wilfrid’s Hospice has been lucky enough to secure funding from Health Education England for our Summer School, for 16 – 19 year olds who are considering a career in health or social care. Students, whilst learning what is involved in the various roles, will be undertaking vocational qualifications.
This six day course includes five days in the classroom and one day shadowing staff in different departments to gain a broad understanding of the work the Hospice undertakes at its Donnington site and throughout the local community. The students will get to meet health care professionals ‘speed dating style’, talk to service users and receive training from highly qualified specialists including a nationally recognised communication skills model.
There are 12 places available and the closing date for applications is 18th May 2017. Call us for an informal chat or go to our website for more information https://stwh.co.uk/education/summer-school/
