St Wilfrid’s Hospice recently joined sixteen other hospices to kick-start this year’s Big Get Together campaign with a colourful vintage-themed afternoon of Swing dancing on Brighton’s iconic Palace Pier.
Seventeen hospices from across the UK teamed up to launch the Big Get Together fundraising campaign, which invites people to have fun with friends or family and raise funds to support their local hospice.
It could be a family barbeque, an evening of sophisticated cocktails and canapés, a coffee morning with friends, a pamper party, dinner party or even a Halloween party; it can be as sophisticated or as silly as you like.
Guests at the Brighton Palace Pier launch were treated to an energetic afternoon of Swing Dance lessons from Swing Patrol UK, accompanied by live music from the talented band Ultraswing, followed by a vintage afternoon tea.
Jasmine Cotton from St Wilfrid’s Hospice said, “Everyone had the most fantastic time and were quickly surprising themselves with their new moves!
“The Big Get Together is all about having fun with friends and family. It’s a fabulous excuse to let your hair down and spend some time making happy memories with those people who are important to you.
“Every penny raised will go towards providing free hospice care to people from across Chichester and the surrounding areas and supporting their loved ones at some of the toughest times in their lives.”
