Alpaca visit on national BBC radio

BBC Radio 5 Live national radio featured St Wilfrid’s over the Christmas break to show how staff ‘go the extra smile’ for people at the Hospice.

Patients were bowled over as alpacas, Baron and Jupiter, were welcomed into the Hospice and everyone was able to get up close with these fascinating animals.

“It’s not something that happens every day, “ said staff member Louise Shaw, who was interviewed about the visit by BBC Radio, which was doing a special programme on care organisations who do interesting things to help patients. “It created a lot of excitement and fun”.

Thank you to Dunreyth alpacas who brought in our special guests over the Yuletide period! Dunreyth is an  alpaca breeding farm that offers hand knitted clothing and special alpaca walking and educational experiences.
