Thank you from Alison

As we celebrate Volunteers’ Week once again I am really pleased to have the opportunity to formally thank all our wonderful volunteers for everything they do to support our vital work.

There are so many ways to Volunteer for St Wilfrid's Hospice and each and every one of our volunteers, now in excess of 500, are helping us to make a difference to local lives. Last year the weekly contribution from volunteers increased to an incredible 1,560 hours a week.

Everyone at St Wilfrid's is enormously proud of everything that has been achieved since the Hospice first opened over 30 years ago. We have received over 16,000 referrals and many volunteers have been motivated by direct experience to support our work by volunteering.

You don’t have to know a lot about St Wilfrid's to join us as a volunteer however; we always welcome interest from potential new volunteers and I can guarantee that whatever you do to support our work you will soon be part of our team!

Thank you to the staff who support our volunteers and make sure that they really are part of our team. I’m looking forward to celebrating volunteers’ week with everyone at our quiz and supper on 16th June, remembering of course that we need to thank our volunteers every day of the year!

I never cease to be amazed by the commitment given by our volunteers and I really appreciate the way in which they contribute to the culture of our hospice, creating an atmosphere that welcomes everyone who visits. Not forgetting our retail volunteers, who work so hard to help our shops staff in ensuring vital funds are raised to support hospice care.

Thank you to our volunteers 2017!
