Hannah Presgrave – Community Fundraising Officer

I joined the Community Fundraising Team at the end of January 2018 and was immediately thrown into the deep end. My role is to help organise hospice events and get the community involved in all the various activities and challenges we have going on throughout the year.

My first task was to help with the planning and delivery of the Mad March quizzes, which meant going out to meet publicans and getting them on board.  This turned out to be a lot of fun and was extremely successful - we raised a whopping £1700! We will continue to roll these quizzes out quarterly over the coming year so keep your eyes peeled for more information!

One of the more unusual things I have since supported is a head shave! Fundraiser Sylvia Payne raised just under £700 to the hospice and donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust, a fantastic lady who has helped two great causes. There has also been a Golf Tournament, the Open Garden Scheme and not forgetting the Moonlight Walk!

I have been thrilled by the support from the community so far. I am looking forward to working with the community in the challenges that lie ahead and can’t wait to get everyone on board.
