DREAMBUILDING Landmark Moment
Wow, on Tuesday 3 July we reached a landmark moment in the construction of our new Hospice in Bosham. I had the great honour of placing the final bolt which completed the steel frame of the new build, surrounded by VIP guests.
Proceedings were officially opened by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant and Patron of the Hospice, Denise Patterson. In her speech, she reflected on the care and support over 17,000 patients and their families have received since St Wilfrid’s opened in 1987 and congratulated the Hospice Trustees for their vision and courage in bringing their ambition to fruition.
We thank the incredible number of people who have already supported the campaign, the local community in Bosham for their warm welcome; and our contractors Kier and Project Managers Baqus, for their excellent work and dedication to our new hospice.
Our new Hospice will be 50% bigger than the current building on Grosvenor Road and have 18 fully en-suite rooms each with a garden view and a shower. The rooms will also be much larger which will allow nurses to provide better care and enabling family and friends to make the most of every moment with their loved one, staying over if they wish. Above all, it will maintain the home from home feeling St Wilfrid’s Hospice prides itself on, creating a warm and welcoming environment for everyone that enters.
We still have £1.7m left to raise and only 9 months in which to do it, so we are calling on everyone’s help to get there! To pledge your support and find out the latest developments please visit our website dreambuilding.org.uk and stay tuned for future fundraising events you can join.
