Our Light up a Life service is free to attend and open to everyone, and all are warmly invited. As places are limited and the event is very popular, advance booking is required.
If you choose to make a donation to St Wilfrid’s Hospice when booking, you can also include a loved one’s name in our Order of Service as a dedication.

Make a dedication
If you cannot attend our Light up a Life event, you can add a light or bauble to our Virtual Tree in memory of a loved one. By making a dedication you can honour someone close to your heart, leaving a message and a photo if you wish.
Dedications made by midnight on Friday 20 November will also be included as an insert in our Order of Service for the Light up a Life service at Chichester Cathedral on 13 December.
FAQS
Light Up a Life is St Wilfrid’s Hospice’s annual service of remembrance, held at Chichester Cathedral.
This special evening is a chance to come together with family and friends to:
– Light a candle in memory of a loved one
– Reflect during the readings
– Write a memory card for your loved one
Our Light Up a Life Service is free to attend.
However, there will be an opportunity to make a donation to St Wilfrid’s Hospice, helping us continue to provide free, compassionate care to local people.
No, everyone is welcome. Anyone can book a place here.
Please note that this is a very popular service with limited capacity, so we encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment. You are also invited to make a dedication online ahead of the service.
Your donation for a dedication in the Order of Service is a personal choice, and every gift is greatly appreciated. Your loved ones name will appear on the Dedication Page in the Order of Service and you will be able to keep this as a momentum after the service.
Dedications are suggested at £12, £25 or £42 or any other amount you wish to donate.
Please fill in the name of your loved one on the form here.
Yes. The service is open to all who wish to remember and reflect on loved ones at Christmas.
On the night, you will be given a free message card for you to write and drop in the memory box, which will be taken to the front and form part of the service.
Donations can also be made on the night – a collection will be taken during the service – and every gift, large or small, will make a difference to patients and families supported by St Wilfrid’s.
The service will last just over an hour. We recommend you arrive early as seating is not reserved.
