Caring for others can be stressful. Research indicates that carers can suffer from debilitating anxiety and depression. Simple mindfulness strategies can alleviate the persistent sense of anxiety.
Mindfulness practice teaches skills that develop the resilience required when life gets tough.
Through practising mindfulness on a day to day basis carers come to see themselves and their situation with greater clarity, thus improving their ability to make decisions.
This taster session has been developed to meet the particular needs of carers, offering a form of personal support that can last a lifetime. On the other hand, as a result of this introduction, participants wishing to delve more deeply into mindfulness could undertake a longer course in the future as time permits.
