Management of Syringe Drivers

Wednesday 10th January 2024 13.00 – 16.00 (virtual)

Thursday 21 March 2024 13.00 – 16.00 (face to face)

Tuesday 20th February 2024 13.00 – 16.00 (face to face – funded for Care Homes only)

Price: £50 to include all course materials.

Where: Either face to face at the Education Centre or Virtual via Microsoft Teams 

This half day course is suitable for Registered nurses (refer to the NMC Code to determine own competence) and doctors from all clinical settings. This course utilises the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust policy.

The session starts with some theory on the use of syringe drivers. The common drugs used are explored and some drug calculations practiced. The practicalities of setting up a syringe driver are discussed and the session finishes with a video of a practical workshop on the management and use of McKinley Syringe Drivers.

This afternoon complements the knowledge and skills gained on the Symptom Management in the Last Days of Life course which takes place in the morning.

This course will be held at the Education Centre (Terminus Road, Chichester, PO19 8TX). or virtually via Microsoft Teams which can be booked below – please ensure that individual emails are supplied as we are unable to accept generic emails.
