ReSPECT Authorship (Level 2)

These virtual face to face sessions are for senior nurses and allied health care professionals who will be completing and signing the ReSPECT forms or who are key to contributing to the ReSPECT process in West Sussex. They can also, be attended by medical staff where needed.

The session is subsequent to essential online pre-training and prior to ReSPECT competencies for senior nurses and allied health care professionals. It focuses on the difficult conversations element and case studies after an initial recap.

The sessions are via Microsoft Teams and last for 3 hours and are now run by Christine Penhale, ReSPECT Clinical Educator in Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust. All ReSPECT level 2 sessions are daily 09.00-12.00 am and are for staff at Band 6 and above who will be facilitating and recording ReSPECT conversations. This is a West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group funded post for the primary, acute, community and care home sector.
