Foundations in Communication Skills in Health & Social Care

Suitable for all health and social care professionals and all levels of of support workers.
This half day session covers different strategies and methods to enhance communication and listening
skills in our day to day working life whatever your clinical role in health and social care.
This session is designed to complement SAGE & THYME® foundation level which gives you a model to
use if someone is upset or distressed in any way. Please note, this workshop can be accessed alone and without attending SAGE & THYME® – it’s for everyone!!
By the end of the workshop you will:-
1. Be familiar with the communication principles used in supportive conversations
2. Be able to discuss how ways of communicating impacts on the person
3. Understand methods for effective communication for supportive conversations with patient/ service
user and / or family member
4. Be more confident in using these methods.
