Suitable for all health and social care professionals in all clinical settings.
This half study day can be used as a refresher for the principles of supporting bereaved adults or to gain/improve a knowledge base. The focus will be on ensuring that following the death of someone close to them people will be supported during the bereavement process. There will be an emphasis on support immediately following the person’s death and identification of the need for future support. It is anticipated that group discussions will feature as part of this short course, linking theory to practice with relevant signposting. This session also, includes bereavement, loss and grief associated with covid-19.
Key learning outcomes:-
- Outline the principles of supporting the bereaved adult.
- Be able to identify the need for further support for the bereaved adult.
- Understand how to support the bereaved adult during the bereavement process.
- Outline the specific challenges experienced by the bereaved adult post COVID-19.
- List specific resources available to provide support to bereaved adults in Sussex.
This course links to specific subject areas and tiers within the EoLC Core Skills Training Framework.
