What is TreeCycling?

Our TreeCycle event is a fundraising event that helps look after our local environment and supports St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Local postcodes are invited to book for their tree to be collected from their front lawn by our tree-mendous volunteers, who take it to be recycled into wood chippings and mulch to support local farmlands.

In exchange, we ask for a suggested donation of £15 to help fund our vital hospice care services to the local community, completely free of charge.

How TreeCycle helps support St Wilfrid’s

By making a donation for us to collect your tree, it helps us cover the cost of providing the service as well as helping pay for the running costs of the Hospice services.

It costs over £9 million a year to run the Hospice, so TreeCycle helps raise money to cover the costs and allow St Wilfrid’s to continue to provide expert care and compassion to people with life limiting illnesses in the local community.

We are so pleased to be supporting St Wilfrid’s Hospice again this year to offer a simple, green, and charitable way to dispose of your Christmas tree.

By signing up to the Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme, the Hospice’s team of volunteers will collect your tree and recycle it for you in return for a donation to the hospice. This scheme brings together the local community and the spirit of Christmas and is a great way to ensure your Christmas tree is recycled whilst also supporting an important local charity.
