Why we need your help

St Wilfrid’s Hospice is an independent local charity that has provided compassionate end-of-life care, free-of-charge in your local community for over 35 years.

It costs over £9 million a year, over £26,000 a day, to provide our high-quality hospice services without charge for local people. A small percentage of our costs are funded by an NHS grant, but we mostly rely on the generosity of public donations to ensure as many people as possible in the local community receive our care and support.

The best way to get involved while still enjoying the Summer is by getting involved in some community fundraising. Whether you hold your own event or take part in someone else’s, you’ll be helping raise vital funds.

Hold your own event

From a bake sale or coffee morning to taking on a marathon or skydive, holding your own event is a great way to raise vital funds while doing something fun!
