Could you be an Ambassador for St Wilfrid’s?

St. Wilfrid’s Hospice in Chichester has formed a new team of volunteer ‘Hospice Ambassadors’ who are spreading the word about St Wilfrid’s in the local area. Our Ambassadors deliver short presentations of around 30 minutes to an hour, to local groups, societies and companies highlighting our work, the importance of planning end of life care and the involvement of the local community.

Following the success of the pilot scheme, we are now looking for up to 8 volunteers to take on the role. If you are confident, dedicated, adaptable, articulate, enjoy public speaking and would like to represent the Hospice in this way, we’d love to hear from you. This role does require basic knowledge of technology such as PowerPoint and projection equipment (specific training will be provided.) 

The selection process will then involve an informal chat at the Hospice about the role on either the 18 or 19 July, during which you will be asked to deliver a 5-minute presentation on a topic of your choice. Successful candidates shall then be invited to a day’s training and appraisal which is taking place on 25 July. Applicants must be available on this date. Once this process has been concluded we will confirm if applicants have been successful or not.

Not keen on public speaking but would like to help the Ambassadors?

  • Researcher for Ambassador Programme - We are also looking for a volunteer to help identify opportunities with local community groups, maintain and accurately record potential contacts and possible venues so the Relationship Co-ordinator can liaise and secure bookings.
  • Ambassador Relationship Co-ordinator – An opportunity for someone with excellent telephone skills to call potential organisations highlighted by the Researcher to arrange and set up presentations which will be delivered by the Ambassadors.
