Alex's Story

St Wilfrid’s Hospice is delighted to welcome Alex who joined the team in March 2018. Having spent the last 10 years working in the charity sector and at least half of that focussing on fundraising, Alex jumped at the chance to apply for the Community Fundraising Manager position when it appeared. “I have a lot of family and friends in West Sussex and am very aware of how well respected and loved St Wilfrid’s is in the local community.” Alex explains,” Everyone understands the value of a Hospice – there is no question about the benefit of this kind of work. My mother used to be a nurse who cared for children with life limiting illnesses so I am very aware of the benefits that come from palliative care – when this position came up, I knew it was the job for me!”

Alex is keen to get stuck in and meet all of our loyal existing supporters and is hoping to be able to reach out to a younger community audience to spread the word further of what great work the hospice does.

I am really excited about getting out and meeting all our supporters and am grateful for all of their hard work and efforts they have made so far. With the brand new hospice nearly complete, we need the community’s support more than ever and I can’t wait to get involved. I am already planning some fantastic new and exciting events for the years to come.
