Ahoy my hearties! Jump aboard Pirates on the Run on Saturday 1st September to enjoy a colourful bouncy fun run. Challenge yourself to tackle this brand new 3km inflatable obstacle course and you too could be scrambling over a Pirate castle, Treasure Island, giant slides, Spanish galleon and a giant shark!
You can catch any one of three ‘waves’ for the run starting at 11am (Black Pearl), 12pm (Regal Fortune) or 1pm (Queen Anne's Revenge). Each wave of the sponsored run will offer the choice of a 1.7k route, perfect for sea pups, or a 3k route for the more experienced pirate.
Packed full of pirate fun and high jinks, this event offers something for every age group, from sea pup to seasoned seadog! From learning to talk like a pirate at our free workshops, to hunting for treasure to testing your nerves when you walk the plank, the day will be packed with entertainment and refreshments fit for any motley crew. Everyone is encouraged to dress up as pirates with prizes on offer for the best fancy dress.
“Emulating the swashbuckling fun and perils of the high seas, this brand new and fun filled challenge for young and old will raise vital booty for St Wilfrid’s Hospice,” said Alex Burch, Community Fundraising Manager. “All of the pieces of eight raised by this exciting new event, will be used to help St Wilfrid’s Hospice go the ‘extra smile’ to help terminally ill people to get the most out of life for as long as possible. So grab your crew, get sponsored and join #teamwilf today!”
People who sign up before 15th July can take advantage of an ‘Early bird’ ticket offer for £15 for older sea dogs (adults) and £6 for young deck hands (children). Everyone who registers will receive a commemorative t-shirt in their registration pack.
